Sunshine Structures Completes Structural Systems for St. Lucie Special Needs Center

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (2/6/09) – Sunshine Structures, Inc., has completed the structural concrete for general contractor DooleyMack Constructors on the new St. Lucie Special Needs Center located at 2000 Virginia Avenue in Fort Pierce.

Schenkel Shultz Architecture designed this unique 65,500 square foot tilt-wall medical facility with radius tilt-wall panels at the front entry.  This is a feature not commonly seen in tilt-wall structures, but being utilized more and more in designs, further establishing the advances of tilt-wall construction.  The buildings insignia is also reverse embossed into the concrete panels.

Sunshine Structures completed all cast-in-place concrete and steel-reinforced concrete tilt-walls for this project.  Russ McCone served as the project manager for Sunshine Structures and Mike Stopiello was project superintendent.
